William Shatner a la Sarah Palin

No matter how you feel about Sarah Palin, you must admit she can be a bit unique. Which is why I was a little bit surprised and a lot bit excited to see that her Twitter feed has been declared poetry, and performed to music by the great William Shatner.

This is comedy.

Powell

Lake Powell is awesome! This year's trip was no exception...

Here are a few highlights.

My Sister the Celebrity

Last week at Lake Powell (more on that to follow), Steph and I somehow got into a conversation about which celebrities could play us if they ever make movies about our lives, (which I'm sure they will). Steph told me some of her friends think she looks like Kristen Stewart. I disagree, mostly because Kristen Stewart is gross and Steph isn't. But I couldn't think of a better match off the top of my head. Coincidentally, we saw the new Harry Potter that same day, and suddenly I had found my actress. Duh, Emma Watson! Steph remains unconvinced that she bears any resemblance to Hermione, so the purpose of this blog is convince her (and everyone else).

Here is my proof: (Click photos to enlarge image.)

Emma making smiles at a something.

Don't even pretend you don't see it, they're practically twins!

And just in case anyone still needs convincing, here's a recent pic of K-Stew, sporting the ever classy she-mullet. Psh, Steph doesn't even have a mullet. Take that!

Ingrid Michaelson

Last night our plans fell through at the last minute, so Chad got us on the guest list for the Ingrid Michaelson showcase instead. (I'm a huge fan, so if I'd known that Chad's firm represents Ingrid and he could get us in so easily, she definitely would have been in our original plans for the night.)

Until yesterday I didn't even know what a showcase was. Last night I learned that it's just like a concert, mostly, only smaller, and closed to the public. Prior to releasing a new album, an artist will 'showcase' their latest work to a small group of industry reps and press. So instead of standing room only with a couple thousand screaming fans, (which I'd expect going to her concert), a showcase is more intimate, with only a few dozen attendees, usually held in a restaurant or small bar. Needless to say, it was an amazing show, and I'm an even bigger fan this morning after seeing her in that setting.

Many people probably recognize Ingrid from this song, her first single, which spent a couple hot weeks on the Billboard Top 40 back in late 07, early 08. If you aren't familiar with her other work, I would definitely recommend it! You should check her out! I loved the new music she played last night, her latest album is sure to be another big success. For your listening pleasure, I'm embedding below the title track on the new album, Everybody, out August 25th. Enjoy!
